The Americanization Movement digital collection contains photocopies of correspondence and a transcript of the proceedings of a conference, attended by state governors, of the National Bureau of Education and the National Committee of One Hundred. This conference was held in 1918 just prior to the United States’ entry into World War I, and reflected the unease of the U.S. over the Communist Revolution in Russia and Germany’s overrunning much of Europe.

Excerpt from letter by Franklin K. Lane to B. F. Welty regarding Americanization.
